Dominican Republic builds wall to block undocumented migrants
Why D.R. Is building a wall in the border? Is that a racist country? Is that discrimination? Xenophobia?
All countries have borders. Some need walls and some do not.
- The Gang violence is harder to prevent.
- The D.R. Deforestation and illegal charcoal trade is harder to prevent.
- The Illegal migration is harder to prevent.
- The Illegal human trafficking is harder to prevent.
- The Illegal Contraband is harder to prevent.
- The Illegal trade (Arms,Drugs,Hazardous materials) is harder to prevent.
- The crossing of stolen property, goods and cattle is harder to prevent.
- The already eradicated plants, fruits and crop diseases are harder to prevent.
- The contraband of construction materials from the illegal extraction of construction materials from rivers in the D.R. is harder to prevent.
It is not only a wall. It has roads, monitors, sensors and checkpoints. It is the first line of national border protection. This will benefit both countries in the long run.
Just like 162 countries out of 194 countries of the world do not give automatic citizenship to those born there. DR is Jus Sanguini, in otherwords you have to have at least 1 Dominican parent to be considered Dominican and for citizenship.
If your parents are illegal immigrants and their kid is born in DR, that kid isn't a citizen because he was born in transit, in other words the baby is illegal as well. This law has been our law since 1929. And it isn't a strange law because 162 out of 194 countries of the world have the same law. Including Haiti, which wont grant citizenship to any children born to any illegal Dominican parent if born in Haiti or perhaps ANY other illegal Nationality as well.
The United States however is in the minority, because they are only 1 out of 32 countries of the world that grant citizenship by Birth no matter if your parents are illegal however this have created "Anchor-Babies" which is worst because the Illegal Parents get deported but the government stay with the innocent child without his real parents. U.S. follow the "Jus Soli" law among 30 countries, In other words, the US are the exception to the law not the rule.
