Dominican Republic human rights: Authorities accused of racism towards Haitians

Amnesty International has criticised the Dominican Republic, urging it to stop mass deportations of Haitians and accusing authorities of racism. But many in the Dominican Republic say they cannot shoulder the acute crisis in Haiti, just because they share an island.

The solution to the problem in Haiti is not for everyone to move to the Dominican Republic. Without documents from their own country, they will always be illegal migrants in any country in the world.

How will they hold serious elections in that country if they do not have identity documents, official identification from their own country?

Illegality never generates rights. Illegality does not expire over time.

If you want to help them, don't sell them dreams of illegality.
